Who We Are

bulletThe Dominican Winifred Baker Chorale is a community choral ensemble sponsored by Dominican University of California.  The Chorale is open to all interested persons who desire to sing choral art music.  Moreover, the Chorale serves as an academic credit ensemble for University music students and other degree pursuing students enrolled at Dominican.
 
bulletThe Chorale is conducted by Dr. Craig Singleton, Professor of Music and Chair of the Department of Music and Performing Arts at Dominican University
 

Spring Semester

First day of class:  Tuesday, January 22, 2008
7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Dominican University
Angelico Hall

Please arrive early to complete registration forms and purchase music.  Cash or checks accepted.  Also $15 for hospitality (weekly rehearsal refreshments) should be paid at this time.

Note learning pre-rehearsals start Tuesday, January 30th 6:30 PM - 7:25 PM

bulletPerformance Music:  Music this Spring Season will be a variety of choral works by major composers in celebration of the Chorale's 50 years of music making, with performances on May 2nd and 5th.

Text and Resources

bulletEach singer is expected to purchase music.  Please make your checks payable to Dominican University (for Chorale Music).  Or, if you wish, you may pay by cash. 

Digital rehearsal files which may be downloaded by chorus members will be available on the Note Learning page shortly after rehearsal begins.

Rehearsal CDs will be available for purchase at $5.  If you would like to pre-order your voice part and have it available the first day of class please send an email to webmaster at this domain with your name and voice part.

Rehearsal and Performances

bulletRehearsals are on the Angelico Hall Stage, 7:30-9:30 p.m., on Tuesdays, unless otherwise noted in the rehearsal and performance schedule. 

We plan to perform with orchestra and will raise funds for the players.  Your contributions are gratefully appreciated.

Each member should become familiar with the music before we rehearse it.  Using the rehearsal schedule as your guide, you can practice on your own the selections which will be covered in rehearsal, or you can take advantage of our pre-rehearsal sessions where we will become familiar with the music to be rehearsed.  The pre-rehearsals will be on stage at 6:30 p.m., unless otherwise informed.

Rehearsals on April 22 and 29 are from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
